8 kilometers (4.97 miles) on the beautiful Blackwater Creek Trail.

Awards

Awards given to top male and female overall and to the top three male and female in the following age groups: 18 & under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50 & above Door prizes and raffle drawn immediately following races; all winners must be present to win prizes.

Entry Fee

$20 for EDUC8-K, $10 for 1-K Fun Run if postmarked or registered by August 20, 2011. Fees increase to $25 for EDUC8-K and $15 for 1-K Fun Run on day of race. Moisture wicking tank tops are included in registration fee for EDUC8-K but are limited. Cotton t-shirts in children's sizes for 1-K Fun Run are included in registration fee but are limited.

To ensure shirt availability all registration must be received by August 20, 2011. Registration online is available at educ8k.com, if mailing entries please complete and mail in registration form with payment to EDUC8-K and 1-K Children's Fun Run to address listed below.

What we run for...

Every year we choose a different education based organization already hard at work to benefit from the EDUC8-K and Children's 1-K Fun Run. We are happy to announce our 2011 benefactor as Allow the Children. Through the EDUC8-K and 1-K Children's Fun Run, we hope to positively influence the world around us, the community in which we live and the individuals participating in the EDUC8-K. Our hopes on a global scale are to provide education to those in need by raising funds to benefit Allow the Children's ongoing work to provide lifesaving education to communities in Nepal and environs. Our local goals are to bring a community together in an event to raise global awareness and to share the common goal to make a difference, for good, in the world outside our city. Lastly, our goal for the individual is to motivate each participant to get active and improve their health through exercise and training for this race.
